Saeed Naguib

MLA for Surrey City Centre

    An Independent Voice for Surrey

My name is Saeed Naguib, and I’m running as an independent candidate for the BC MLA seat in Surrey City Centre. I am running because I love the Salish Coast and I believe we need a better solution to fix the deep-rooted problems our province faces than what the current political parties offer.

    Why I'm Running

Surrey is poised to become the largest city in British Columbia by 2030, yet we continue to be short-changed. While Vancouver sees investments in infrastructure and beautification projects, Surrey is often treated as an afterthought —a place for housing stock rather than a thriving, vibrant city in its own right. I want to change that. I envision Surrey as a walkable, small-business-friendly, transit-connected, green city. We deserve more than just being Vancouver’s overflow.

Our province is in crisis. The healthcare and housing situations are causing immense suffering, and despite being in power for seven years, the BCNDP has failed to address these issues effectively.

    Bold Action Is Needed

I propose increasing taxes on mining companies and earmarking those funds for critical investments in healthcare and public, subsidized housing.

The big parties have shown that they are part of the problem—they prioritize their own interests over the province’s needs. As an independent candidate, I am free from party politics and focused solely on what’s best for Surrey and for British Columbia.

Surrey deserves leadership that listens, acts boldly, and puts the people first. Together, we can create a city that isn’t just a place to live, but a place to thrive.
